Makeup Favorites

For Christmas the only thing that I asked my hubby for was a gift card to Sephora. Most of my makeup was outdated and old so it was time to freshen things up a bit. I want to share some of my new favorite finds as well as some products I have been using for a long time and love.

I am usually a total MAC junkie but I have been trying out Smashbox and Urban Decay. They have become some of my new favorites.

1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer: This is by far the best foundation Primer I have found. It is not thick or heavy and helps my foundation go on smooth and last forever. I also feel like it removes the redness from my skin.

2. MAC Eye Shadow in Flament & Scene : I have been using both of these for a while and I love using them together. The Flament isn't too sparkly and the Scene is a really pretty taupe color.

3. Bareminerals Eyecolor in Java : I actually use this eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows. I am really blonde and this isn't too dark and matches my eyebrow color perfectly. The more you use the darker it gets so a brunette could definitely use this too.

4. Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder : This is the absolute best Finishing Powder! This has just a little bit of color so it doesn't wash you out. It helps my foundation last forever and gives the prettiest matte finish. LOVE it.

5. Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush :  I use this brush to apply my foundation and my finishig powder. It does exactly what is says, Blurrs imperfections. My foundation looks flawless using this and it goes on so smooth. Best foundation brush I have used.

6. MAC 129 Powder/Blush Brush : I use this brush to apply blush and powder highlighter. It grabs the product so nicely and is really soft.

7. Urban Decay Melt Down Makeup Remover : I use this to remove my eyemakeup and I feel like it does its job perfectly. It is a cream remover instead of a liquid and I really like that. It is really good for your skin too!

8. MAC Fix + : I use this hydrating spray to not only set my makeup but to also mosturize my face at the end of the day. If I am feeling really dry or red I spritz this on and it works wonders!

9. Urban Decay Naked Palette : Love this eyeshadow palette! This has every shade you would ever need. I mostly use the shades Virgin, Naked and Hustle. I cant wait to get the Naked 2 and 3 Palettes.

10. Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner : I have used this eyeliner for years and it is my favorite. It glides on nicely and lasts forever.

11. Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion : My favorite Eyeshadow Primer of all time. Eyeshadow goes on so smoothly and is more pigmented. By the end of the day my shadow looks the same as it did when I first applied it. This is a must have for every girl!

12. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer :  This is one my absolute favorite products ever. If I run out of this I want to cry. You apply it under your eyes before you apply foundation. It gets rid of dark circles, wrinkles and gives you the prettiest glow that isn't sparkly. People ask me all the time what I use under my eyes. Love this.

13. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara : You can't go wrong with this mascara. It doesn't clump and lasts all day.

14. Smashbox High Definition Healthy FX Foundation :  I used MAC Studio Fix before I found this and I would say it is very comparable. It is a buildable foundation that does great at covering and not caking. I love the matte finish it creates.

I hope you ladies found this helpful in your search for great makeup! I will also be posting some of my hair and skin care favorites soon as well. Happy Friday Eve!

Ryder {20 Months}

I can't believe this little guy is 20 months old! When people ask me his age I'm now forced to say he is almost two and I always cringe. Where did time go??

Even though I am really sad he is growing up, I have to say that this is such a fun age. He is getting the cutest personality and is doing new things every day.

Favorite foods: peaches, toast, cheese, strawberries, milk, avocado, pickles, turkey and tuna fish. He is still not a fan of bananas or really sweet foods.

Favorite toy: trucks, trucks and more trucks! He also loves his stuffed animals.

Favorite words: NO! That is definitely his favorite. But it's more like nooooooo. He is talking so much lately. He says ball, balloon, truck, Mickey, car, daddy, mama, papa, cash {our dog}, bye bye, kitty, puppy and so much more.

Favorite thing to do: Anything outside. This kid loves being outdoors. Coloring, Playing with his trucks, watching Mickey Mouse and bath time.

Least favorite thing to do: Sit still to get dressed or get his diaper changed. Seriously it takes me like 20 minutes to change a diaper. Napping, we are now going on a month straight with no naps, This mama is tired. And getting out of the bath tub.

Favorite person: His daddy. He loves him so much and is so attached to him. It melts my heart.

He is also growing super fast. I just ordered him some summer clothes and had to buy 3T and 4T sizes. He is huge! He is the sweetest, most calm and well behaved little guy. I can't wait to see him continue to grow!

And now ill leave you with some adorable baby pics. it feels like it was just yesterday he was this little!

Life lately

This little boy has been keeping me on my toes the last few weeks. He has randomly taken a 2 week {and counting} strike on napping, so our days have been long and sometimes exhausting. I'm hoping he has just hit a growth spurt or something and things will get back to normal soon. So in an attempt to get this little guy's energy out, we have braved the cold and been going on walks.

We also have put Ryder in a booster seat at the dinner table and he LOVES it! He feels like such a big boy and he actually eats better. We bought the Graco Blossom 3 in 1 high chair so it came with a booster seat.

One morning he was playing with his trucks at the table while I made breakfast.  I got out a gallon of milk, poured myself a glass then went to get Ryder's cup to get him some milk too. In the 2 seconds I walked away he managed to grab the gallon of milk and spill the entire thing on himself, the kitchen floor and the dog. Nothing a bubble bath and hot cup of coffee can't fix.

So wish us luck on the napping situation! Happy almost Friday!

Valentines Day Favorites

I don't know what it is but Valentines Day is one of my favorite Holidays! And even though it is a very girly holiday I still have the best time dressing up Ryder. Here are a few of our favorites this season.

Ryder has his Valentines pictures this weekend and I really wanted him to wear those jeans with suspenders from H&M. But of course, they didn't have them in his size. Little boy in suspenders....I.die.

Ryder was wearing those mustache vday jammies the other night and my hubby instantly asked why the hell he was dressed like a girl. ummm...they have mustaches! Remember Ryder's Mustache Valentines from last year?? Totally manly.

I am really excited to plan a fun festive vday breakfast. Just something simple like this

I am also planning on doing some yummy treats, a vday box full of goodies for Ryder and of course spoiling the hubby. More posts on that to come. Check out my Valentine Board on Pinterest to find some more fun vday ideas.

January

Guys....can I just say that I really really dislike the month of January. Does anyone else think this is the worst month of the year?? After the holidays are over I have spring fever and am ready for some warmer weather. We have had some major cabin fever over here!! Today the high was 35 degrees, but I couldn't keep this little guy inside any longer. He came outside with me to take out the garbage and refused to come inside. He didn't care how cold it was.

Some of our indoor activities have been "cleaning"- sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning out the fridge and taking all the cans out of the cupboard then putting them back....

Playing with his trucks...

And of course loving on the dog.

We've also been baking lots of goodies and taking long bubble baths.

Last but not least, I gave this little guy a haircut last night and when I pulled out the clippers this is the sad face he gave me. I die!

The fact that valentines day is coming up is making this month a little more bearable. It is one of my favorite holidays!

Coming up on the blog are some vday favorites, Ryder's 20 month update, Nursery and big boy room plans and 2nd trimester favorites. Happy January!

Baby #2 is a.....

....................boy! ! We are SO excited to announce that we are going to be adding another boy babe to our family! I cannot wait for Ryder to meet his little brother and even though he doesn't quite understand whats going on, I just know he is going to be the best big brother. The ultrasound went well and baby boy is healthy and perfect. We even stopped and got Ryder a blue balloon, his favorite thing ever.

Now the fun begins! I'm excited to begin planning the nursery and picking a name. And I know that I said that if its a boy I won't need to buy any baby clothes because he will fit into Ryder's, but I've already started shopping! It feels like I was just doing this yesterday for Ryder.

Hello 2014

Well hello 2014, you came so fast! This year we didn't really do a whole lot for NYE. Ryder didn't nap that day so he ended up crashing way early and the hubby worked a little late. And because of the no nap situation that day I was pretty exhausted myself. We relaxed, watched movies and thought about our year. I loved every minute of our laid back night!

2014 has SO much in store for us! A new baby, we will be building a new home, Ryder will be TWO, and much more! I came up with 4 easy goals that I hope to accomplish this year.

1. Relax. This is my number one goal. I know, it sounds kind of weird. I am an OCD planner. Everything I do has to be planned or scheduled. I am always in a rush and stressed a lot of the time because of it. My husband always has to remind me to slow down and relax. So this year I am going to slow down my everyday life and take in every moment that I can. Especially with a new baby on the way. I'm going to soak up every moment that I can with my growing family.

2. Be a better wife and mom. Because I am always going a hundred miles an hour my wife and mom duties get pushed to the side sometimes. Not this year!!

3. Be better with our finances. I'm sure this is on a lot of people's resolution lists.

4. Live a healthier lifestyle. This is hard right now while being pregnant. I want to eat everything in site! I'm hoping to make a few changes to my diet {as well as my family's} and exercise.

So bring on 2014! I'm so ready for it!

And Ryder is ready for it to be warm out. We have bad cabin fever! Is it spring yet??

Happy 2014!
